Segment Two- LinuxWorld Conference & Expo News-

Tonight we are going to joined by Warwick Davies Group Vice President IDG World Expo to talk about what is new this year with our favorite Linux Conference (now that ALS is gone), the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo held next month January 20th through 23rd at NYC's Javit's center. The event is of course put on by the folks at IDG World Expo, a business unit of IDG.

If you have been living under a rock the last few years, LinuxWorld Conference & Expo is the premier event exclusively focused on Linux and open source solutions. As the world's most comprehensive marketplace for open source products and services, LinuxWorld provides business decision-makers with information and resources to implement Linux and open source solutions into business infrastructure and enterprise networks. Plus it is fun.

Editorial Note: TLS will be broadcasting17 hours of live broadcasts from the Javits Center in NYC over the three day run of the event. As we embark upon our 7th year of webcasting TLS (The Linux Show), we find it very gratifying that we can renew our long relationship with the folks at IDG who have been so kind over the years to give us their support in bringing our broadcast to their technology events.

Warwick Davies is a Group Vice President at IDG World Expo responsible for the Macworld Conference & Expo and LinuxWorld Conference & Expo brands. Warwik recently joined the company in July 2003. Before joining IDG World Expo, he was an independent consultant helping companies quickly and profitably discover and launch international business opportunities in the high tech and biotech sectors.

Prior to running his own consulting business, he was Vice President of Expositions and International Business Development at DCI, one of North America's premier business and technology conference and exposition organizers. At DCI, Warwick conceived and launched DCI's international conference program, including events in the UK, Germany, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. He also held worldwide responsibility for DCI's Customer Relationship Conference and Exposition.

Prior to joining DCI, Warwick held a series of international sales, marketing, operations and administration management positions with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa Germana Airlines, Hertz Corporation and the British Government. Warwick is also author of The Freeport Experiment, a book detailing the success and failures of the UK free trade zones. He holds a BS in Economics from Northeastern University.
